Yes exactly, we are dressed like an airplane crew, but in pink, which of course immediately catches the eye at events. Also on our website it runs through like a red thread, whereby we play live not only in pink. Often it is also required to perform in fancy evening wear or sometimes even casual. In addition, we also offer ourselves as an unplugged formation, so that we can also play at quieter events.
Of course, that's a real "eye-catcher"! Can you tell us something about the musical concept, repertoire etc.? Which events do you play?
Our repertoire is broad, but the focus is on pop, rock and soul of the past 50 years. You might think that we are more of a pop band because of our outfit, but exactly the opposite is the case. We always have something to that effect, but at PPP it's more rock and soul. We actually play almost all events that are brought to us, but especially corporate events, weddings, city festivals and once a year also traditionally at the CSD in Stuttgart.
You always perform with the same line-up. Is this a musical partnership of convenience or is there more behind it?
Our regular line-up has been around for 12 years now, but like most bands we also have a large pool of stand-ins who can call on the repertoire at any time. Roland Hrastinski (guitarist and singer) and I founded PPP in 2004, after we had the feeling that our old cover band had run out of steam. When we saw and signed our strong front woman Michaela, the core was actually perfect. Then we looked for keyboardists and immediately liked Michael Rusch and last but not least, our actual temp Andi Bott now has the bass reins firmly in hand.
That's fantastic, of course, when a line-up sticks together for so long! Can you tell us something about the musical development of Pink Party Plane?
I think the interesting thing about our band is that we all have different musical and professional backgrounds, but that we as PPP have now become a sworn community, which by this routine actually always attracts the audience on its side and animates to dance.
Is there already something you and your colleagues are particularly looking forward to in 2016/2017?
For 2017, we wish of course again new requests and are always open for all exciting performances. At the end of the year we play for example on a birthday of a pilot.
